Has anyone tried one of these they are making for shotguns?I've seen some that slip on too,I thought it would work good on a MN 7.62X54.They are a recoil pad that's suppose to cut the recoil by half.

I have known people who went to WalMart and bought the slip on butt pads to put on their Mosins. Apparently they help quite a bit. I have found that as long as you place the Mosin squarely on your should, you should be able to shoot without much pain. In the winter with a coat on I have no problem at all. The only time I have trouble with recoil on my Mosin M38 and M44 is when I shoot off a bench rest. I usually won't have the butt squarely on my shoulder and the wallop will really do me in. Shooting off hand rarely results in any trouble with recoil.

I find the recoil on an M44 to be negligible as is.
