I'm certainly curious.

I fear though that if enough manufacturers follow their lead the ATF will just come up with another law, rule, or regulation to get that $200 out of your pocket, force you into long waits for the paper, and generally make a PITA of themselves all over again as they do so well now.

That's no brace though, unless it was reclassified, altered mechanically to conform, or some other change that is not visible to the eye.

no, you are 100% correct.

I was past referencing.

That noted, that is a 'Stock' in true form & definition.
Franklin Armory (as noted in the linked article) has supposedly found a way around it.

Exactly how, amongst the other attributes, hasn't been publicized. as of yet.

But, yes, that is a 'stock' and NOT a 'Brace'.

My original intended point, was innovation has embraced & overcome 'definition' so much as practical all NFA reg's are practically moot.

BUT....apparently Franklin Armory, has made strides even further.

How exactly, has not yet been shared, publicly, anyway. They lay claim to have already have Tech Branch approval by the BATFE on this new offering. (again, noted in the article)

I can't figure the ATF out.

They approve something that looks like a stock and know damn well it's going to be used as such, and approve it for use on a pistol.

But to attach something that is called a "stock" that is used the same way as a brace is verboten without paying your $200 to the King.

The "Street Sweeper" is a DD, but a Saiga 12 with a Drum, isn't.

When I was a kid, my Father at times would quote this old saying: (paraphrasing)

A man condemned to Death, was given audience before the King.

The Man relayed the following Declaration. "Your Majesty, grant me a year (extension/reprieve) before my execution, and I shall teach your Horse to Sing."

Point being:

Could he teach a Horse to sing? Absolutely not.

But ALOT can change in a year. Including who is in Power, or how Said powers that be, see things, etc.

ie: Times Change
