Default Hey Krink, more German bad-assery...

This thing is a shoulderful with the meat tenderizer stock. I haven't fired an HK91 or PTR91 with a retractable stock in 20 years so this was a real wake-up call. If I didn't do the warehouse work I currently do I can guarantee I wouldn't be doing it tomorrow. I was done after 60 rounds.

The nice thing about the EOTech sight is that your cheek doesn't get beat up by the stock rails because you can't rest your cheek on it and still see the holographic target in the sight window in the EOTech.

When collapsed the sight did it's job and put the bullets on target at 15 and 20 yards by merely pointing the rifle and putting the hologram on the target, both eyes open. I never used one of these before but it comes to you very fast.

This rifle is reliable to a fault and ate up all 60 rounds of PPV ammo in both steel and aluminum mags. I do wish the butpad on the stock was a little larger. I guess it's made for combat troops wearing armor or heavy uniform outerwear. There's not much to get your shoulder on, that much is certain.

I'm just waiting on the wide handguard that ships tomorrow, and some ambi- sling pins that replace the hand guard pin and one of the stock pins, and a couple of HK sling clips to changeover my Magpul sling.

Lots of fun, and woe be the un-invited man standing at the bottom of my staircase looking up at this rifle with a hologram on his head and a German Shepherd Dog on his leg.

Lisl doing what she does best. Looking after me.

The hologram is very sharp when not looking through a camera lens.

Do the PTR guns come with the flapper release or did you add that yourself?

I ended up putting one of those TAC-LATCH releases in my Greek rifle. Works great. Good thing I am right handed though. Won't be good for a lefty...

Nice Rifle!!!

All the PTR rifles now come with the original mag release. They also have the 5/8"x24 threading on the barrels.

Really like the looks of the triangular handguard and regular buttstock. That collapsible stock looks like it will be painful to shoot much with, especially in 7.62x51mm.

It is.

It's more or less for the house to keep the rifle maneuverable indoors.

I remember when I did my first catalog in 1990 We had some G-3's in it for sale.Always liked those wanted the Sniper version in the cool wood case for years. But when guys wanted 10 grand for them I said too much dough.

Had all kinds of different version's. They kick like a mule in full auto. like the M-14. We fired many up at Sparky's in Ottawa ,IL. the old Buffalo Rock range.

Always also liked the green furniture contrast against the black finish look. Had Fred Vollmer back in Bloomington. do a shorty Belt feed for me in full auto. The gun always jammed up when testing. Sold it for 5 grand back in the day. Very few made. And last one I saw they had wanted over 20 grand for one.

You won't go wrong with a G-3 and alum mags are now super cheap.Had all the factory claw mount scopes on mine with the green cases. We sold many of those until the supply ran out.Hey about all I have left Memories..

and good ole times. Krink
