Exclamation Re: NIB Mossy Shockwave - $369 SHIPPED

Oregon, now freezing all transfer of these, until their States Attorney office can decide "what it is".

By FEDERAL stand, its a "Firearm" (only) - not a Pistol, not a Shotgun.

But individual State definitions, are completely different issue. Seems Oregon is seizing on that.

the specialized grip makes a world of difference, nothing is 'biting' your wrist like a regular PG. it instead is dispersed evenly down the the entire forearm.

thus, wholly more manageable, dare one say - comfortable

You guys are clueless or have serious arthritis. I've owned a Mossberg Breacher, with the PG only grip for many years and have put a lot of rounds through it without an issue. I prefer to shoot it while looking down the sights, meaning held right in front of my face. It has never blown back on me.... I've shot buck, bird and slugs using that technique. You have to be smart when you shoot a PG shotgun, it's not like a semi-auto handgun. You don't worry about limp wristing it. Hold it tight, but not as tight as you would a 9mm. Let it roll a little when it fires. Basically it's the same style grip as shooting a Single Action revolver.

As long as you are shooting normal 2.5" shells, there is no problem. The Shockwave is supposedly even easier to shoot because of the grip. I was thinking about buying one of those grips for my Breacher, but since the Shockwave came out, I'm more likely just to buy a new gun. That is a really sweet package and you'd be well advised to grab one.

The price listed is nothing special. I've seen them at local gun shops in the $400- $420 range, which after you figure in shipping and transfer fees, is about the same price.

Not clueless, I have a 8" scar on my left forearm from a titanium plate being placed to fix a shattered bone, a wrist that was dislocated with permanent damage at the same time so I have to be careful what I shoot or hurt like hell for three of four days. Otherwise, I'd love to have one , especially since it seems to be legal with a 14" barrel. These injuries are a big part of why I use 9mm pistols, can't tolerate too much torque to my wrist.

Rather negative review in Guns, Sept 2017, by Holt Bodinson. Designed to be fired from the waist position ONLY, as specified in the manual. Not terribly accurate and does not run well with mini-shells. They do not feed well without the installation of of the rubber OPSol Mini-Clip which the author found not thoroughly reliable. Useful perhaps in bear country when hiking. Author says "Shockwave may be a cool looking but it's not a gun to be purchased, fired a few times and then set aside... Requires you to maintain your proficiency with through periodic practice. It's a darn demanding firearm". List price $455 apparently.

I figured that kind of thing would start happening. While the Shockwave may be legal (for now) in Arkansas I have a feeling if I had one in my truck and got pulled over for something.....The over zealous cop would feel it was his or her duty to confiscate it. Then I have the hassle of getting it back. Not worth it to me.

I guess "size" does matter to the feds. A couple of inches? Nonsense - but then they killed folks at Ruby Ridge for a shotgun 1/2" too long.

I think the publicized issue was that the barrel was 1/2" too short. And the BATF actually trapped him into sawing it off.

You are correct - it was too short by 1/2" - and they did trap him.

Hickok45 seems to think they're great - shooting gongs at 80 plus yards with his -

Clint Smith of Thunder Ranch seems to think it's okay and can be used for self defense too -

I think it's personal preference - then some don't like pistol grip shotguns no matter what.
