I recommend Jack London’s short story: “To Build A Fire” about the dangers of underestimating the effects of severe cold. Although most people won’t experience the instant freezing effects of 50 degrees below zero, the same gradual effects of hypothermia can sneak in if you don’t pay attention to the long-term effects of your decisions: never travel alone, know your limits and act quickly to get additional sources of heat when things start going downhill.
“I have a Right to my Life; I have a Right to the Fruits of my Labor. If you concede the principle of the Income Tax, you concede the principle that the government owns ALL your income and permits you to keep a certain percentage of it.”
─Ron Paul, interview by Time on Sep 17, 2009.
