I have a M38 that I've only shot a couple times. It was woefully inaccurate. I keep saying that I want to convert it to 7.62x39, but I just can't get motivated to do anything with it.

I love C&Rs, but Carcanos are the only ones I never look twice at.

Brescia. I never liked them until I got my 1st one.

The 38? Oswald thought they were 'good enough for government work'.

I've shot a friend's 38 and my marksmanship results agree with ISC...perhaps due to crappy, old ammunition. I would like to have shot some hand loads, but all the owner had was mil-surp that looked like it was 100 years old.

You know they make a spray for that infestation; its called M1 Garand.

                Nice M38s....

Well, now.....got two more today. No more....I'm through.

                  I have a Garand....and a Carbine also. I qualified with the Garand
in 1959. Also qualified with the BAR and was designated the platoon's
                  (or squad's) Barman.

I've got a Carcano. Be it noted that it's the only firearm I own, (Other than the .22 Rimfires) that I still don't have dies and brass to reload for.

Yeah, it's not innacurate, with ammo that will actually go off once in a while, and it's got no notable recoil. I'd compare it to the .30 Carbine that way, actually.

But given all that, why would I need more than one?

(Don't tell me why, or I'll wind up buying more of the flipping things. I don't 'need' two dozen 7.62x54r rifles, either....But that didn't stop me once I got going on them.)

No. I don't need another one.

This is as close as I have ever got to shooting a Carcano:
