  • AK-74 Mags

Got to try out my Arsenal AK-74. Really impressed. Seems worth every penny. Can get 4-5" hits at 100 yards which for me with my vision is great.
Tried out two Magpul mags - not so hot. Would not get any others. The "used" Bulgarian polymer mags worked great. Also tried out my Cammenga Easy Loader and works just fine. Highly recommend it.
Thanks all for your input to my previous queries.

Pardon my edit in error. Hit the wrong button. My apology, DaveBob

When you are buying AK's of any caliber, you're generally better off buying the imported variants. I know there are some exceptions, but although there are more "100% US Build" AK makers now,the best known (Century and IO) are NOT good. Arsenal is spendy, but their quality and value make them worth it...now,if only they'd do some competitive pricing again-I miss the days 8-10 years back when they had some doorbuster prices on occasion.

Arsenal is definitely top tier. The only thing that might be better is a MOLOT, but then it doesn't look as good. Arsenal/ Molot are the only two brands I'd recommend today.

And yes I do remember Arsenal's sales. I got a SAM-7 for $500 dollars.... I think the same model is $1100 today.

I have one of the old Romak-2's, with the thumb hole stock.

I remember them very well. And the SA-95. We go back a ways, Treadhead, don't we? There was a guy on AKdotnutz that went by the screen name of SSR-99. He loved his rifle!

I have a Romanian RPK parts set that is built on a milled ...what is it?...SLR-100 receiver, if you remember those. IIRC, Gordon also built some rifles on those receivers.

                Cammenga loaders are my favorites.

As the others have said, you can't go wrong with Arsenal products.

Hey Treadhead, you should have been at Bulletfest when Chief Thunder opened up those two commie shipping box 'caskets' of AKM and AK74 magazines. We couldn't get our wallets out fast enough!

Bigfoot, I sold off the Romak2 pistol grip conversion I had, but I kept both SAR-2's.
