I'm looking for some accurate handloads to try out in my new Bushmaster Varmint AR rifle. It's got the 24" barrel. Does anyone have a favorite "pet" load that will give 1/2" groups at 100 yards?

I use 55g Sierra BlitzKings
24.5g of VihtaVoury N133
Federal Gold Medal Match brass
Plain ol' Winchester Smalll Rifle primers.

Will get me .6 MOA from my Bushy lower with Model 1 Sales 24" full bull barrel

Your mileage may vary. Tax, title and destination fees not included.

What rifling twist does your barrel have?

It's 1-7, I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

Bushmaster is 1 in 9 RH twist.

A 1 in 9 should stabilize 68-69 grain bullets. Some can even stabilize 75 grain bullets. These would be good for up to 600 yds.

My favorite short range load is a 52 gr HP flat base Berger over 25.0 gr H335.
