Question DRACO Pistol Purchase

Okay, I am kind of liking the DRACO pistol, the more I look at it. Price is a big consideration. It is affordable. The one video I saw on youtube.com of a guy firing a DRACO showed the pistol jamming at least three or four times while firing a 30 or 40 shot magazine.

Can any DRACO owners recommend them. Are they jammers? Are they reliable as any other AK? Would you buy one again?

All them except one ran like a typical AK and a Timex watch. One that didn't wasn't the design fault but a mistake by Century. Champion 223 one that some idiot put a 5.45 feed ramp in. Once the ramp was changed for the right one it runs like a champ also.

I like to take mine to the range an piss off the 'serious shooters' (gun snob assholes) with the 100 round drum! I showed it to a good friend who made the mistake of marrying a 'witch' that is very anti gun. She made the mistake of going off on him and started to go off on me until I informed her I was not the one who made the mistake of marrying her and I did NOT have to listen to her! She about had a stroke on the spot. hehehehehehehe

Hawk45, sounds like if I get a Draco in 7.62x39 I should be okay. Sorry to hear that your friend married a Wiccan loon. Every witch and polytheist I have met is either some seething tree hugging femenazi nutcase, or if a guy, they are a real loser.

Of reecent there have been some issues with the guns. Jamming like you saw, (Mine did and it just came back from centruy, hope to test it again soon ) There seems too be a hit and miss kind of thing going on. I have heard of some with twisted recievers? cants and such. Just look them over good and check the carrier for any signs of binding. Mine has a Tapco trigger that is causing some issues of drag on the bottom of the carrier. I am going to change it out to a factory trigger and see how that helps. Either way i am keeping mine and it will be rebuilt if need be to make her a good shooter. I intend to SBR mine.

Good luck! I enjoyed mine greatly though it did jam some on me.

If youre talking about my this video the pistol shown was stiff - it still needs to have the sharp edges on the receiver cleaned up with a file/emory paper. It worked alot better in that video than it did when I first fired it. My experience with the Romainian AKs is that most need some deburring/cleanup to function with any reliability.

I have one and it works fine.
It is in 7.62x39, I work for the State Prison System and I am allowed to keep one handgun in my vehicle while on state property but it must be locked in a case designed to hold a handgun and can only have enough ammunition to fill the weapon to capacity.......
I used to carry my Glock 21 with a +2 mag bottom but since I bought the draco it`s my "go to work" gun.
I look at it this way: If I get confronted by a former inmate determined to do me harm he will probably be waiting for me to leave work and he will probably have company, not all criminals are stupid and many are now wearing body armor. The Draco will punch through almost any commercially available body armor and will penetrate several layers of automobile sheet metal, if confronted by a group that is armed I dont even have to get out of my car, I can just shoot through it and "enough ammunition to fill the weapon to capacity" in this case means 30 rounds instead of 16 with the Glock. Besides, just the look of that thing would make most gang bangers shart in their BVD`s.

If I miss at close range I can at least blind them with the flash

A little sheet metal rear sling llop I made that does not modify the weapon

Clean through both sides of a mobile home frame rail.
Many people have sounded off saying these pistols have no real tactical use and are just toys, I think that for my above stated purpose they fill the bill perfectly. When a sling is used to gain a forward tension hold the pistol is quite steady and I have no problem putting 90 percent of my shots in the center mass of a b21 sillohuete target at 100 yards, something I cannot do with the Glock.

Can it be had with the AK left side scope rail? Also methinks TECHSIGHTS belong on one-gotta lengthen the sight radius and mebbego with a Hi Via front post.

A rail can be added, but the easiest way is to replace the lower or upper hand guard with a 'rail' one and use a laser to aim with. Alot faster also.

I still like to use the 100 round drum with mine! hehehehehe

Can leave it loaded to the max and just 5 or 6 turns of the key on the back to take it to firing.

My Draco did not have a side rail on it. Come to think of it I have not seen one on any Draco that I have looked at Lately.

One of those with a drum looks to be the perfect choice for drive bys.
